Giving back while cutting back

I know my generosity has taken a back seat to my need to cut back. I must remember that there are many others doing better than I am and many others doing much worse. It is easy to get think that since I can't do much, I won't do anything. This has not been "well with my soul".

I have started a little slush fund and am looking for ways to make it grow. When I see or hear of a need, I want to be able to have a little money set aside to help out. I am much more likely to make a move if I know that this money is set aside for that purpose.

I welcome your ideas and your suggestions.
